Yes and no. I can find you many examples of games where Tiger castled "under the
line of fire", and the opponent lost by trying such a sacrifice attack.
Actually it was the player's favorite game in my chess club. They were trying to
do that every time. But once you have sacrificed your piece, you have to play
very accurately in order to win, and most of the time Tiger won the game! And it
was of course really getting on their nerves, that's why they tried over and
over again.
