I'm planning a 4 game match between Junior6 (and possibly some other programs as well), against a well know Senior Master (rated around 2375), at a 40/2, followed by 25 in 1 time control, at the Marshall. The match would be conducted manually, using my 200 mHz Notebook computer (24 mb of ram), in that I would be tranferring the moves from the screen to the chess board, pressing the clock and so forth. I am hoping to arrange such an event in one of our future schedules, and hopefully also arrange for the participating master to be paid a small fee. How interesting would this sort of thing be? A top program on limited hardware, against a fairly strong master, but not someone exceptional. If the program beats him to easily, I could probably arrange for a match against one of the many IM/GM's that frequent our club too. But of course, that's only if the first inexpensive match is successful, as the titled player(s) would definately have to be paid more than I could arrange at this time. I hope to set up this (first event), for our June schedule. Larry T. Marshall Chess Club
