Two reasonably even programs, 2:1 computer speed adavantage! You're in strife (difficulties). If your friend wants to see nice even games he could "tweak" his Junior down (smaller hash tables?), or he could allow "You" twice the thinking time. If your friend wants to display the power of his hardware over yours, an "uneven playing field", then all you can do is cheer & jump very loudly on the odd occassion you do win a game. "HA TWICE THE SPEED & I FLOGGED YOU" "but I'm winning 48-1" "HA TWICE THE...." This however is Not a good enough reason to spend $$$$$$$$$ on a new processor unless there are money bets on the games.
