From what I have seen and heard about the program it is little more than
CM5000 with added voice/multimedia support. There are more tutorials and
beginner-oriented materials (Josh Waitzkin (sp?) lessons) but the game
itself and it's features don't appear to be much different. As a
longtime Chessmaster user (3K, 4K, 5K) I think I will pass on 5500.
Maybe it's time I step up to a non-mass market program like Fritz 5 ...I
would like to see the patch out first though that KK is calling for.
Oh, the other thing CM5500 has is a built in Chessmaster Live interface
(their version of ICC). Otherwise you have to download the free CMLive
interface off their web site.
