I work on it sporadically, for two or three months at a time, about every two or three years. I wrote this program in Basic about a million years ago. Then I rewrote it in C about 5 years ago. It plays alot of chess variants, such as 6X6 board, and grasshopper pieces. Most of that stuff is recently ifdef'd out to play fast chess. Last month I glued a winboard interface to it. Even without bitboards, Fat^h^h^h <the program> has _fast_ move generation. (lack of) FEATURES: No hash tables. I'll add this major time-winner soon and the opening transpositions which come free with it. No opening book. Many players choose to win the post mortem :) before I tweak the engine which chooses a different line. No time management. That's why I launch the engine seeking one time control at a time. Why? I find free 1 or 2 percent speed improvements every day. I have some innovative ideas how to add chess knowledge.
