Scrappy's rise on ICC has nothing more to do with than it has been playing
extremely well vs the GM class players on ICC.

Scrappy only plays human opponents, thus doe snot have the great rating swings
of one that plays both computer and human opponents...

On a personal note, I think it has to do with the emmense strength improvement I
have noticed in 17.10, and as of a few days ago Bob told me there wasn't much
difference between 17.11 and 17.10. Thus really if you have noticed everyone who
uses 17.10 on chess servers has gained in rank..

In some test scores using Gandalf 4.32c, Gandalf on a single cpu machine scored
43.5/19.5 vs 17.9, but actually drew a series 35.0/35.0 vs the same machine
using 17.10 ( both programs reset books thus learning wasn't involved ).

Under the time control 15 15 on ICS which there is a standard match ( only there
) Crafty 17.10 is very good, I reason to think about close to 50 elo points
ahead of the previous version.

I could be wrong in my views and if I am, surely Bob or someone else will
certainly correct me :)
