It's the first ten positions chosen by John Nunn, the english GM. They are
supposed to be positions suitable for the evaluation of chess programs, because
it's a selection of openings particularly intended for the evaluation of
positional and strategical play. That's my interpretation of Nunn 1 anyway and
somebody might be better informed, but I'm not sure they're better suited than
other openings/positions for the intended purpose. There's also Nunn 2
positions, but I'm not sure about Nunn 3. It would be nice if someone posted the
Nunn positions.
