Dear friends, On Thursday a Philippine schoolboy sent out an email message containing the "I love you virus". Within 24 hours this program had spread all around the world, clogging Internet mailing systems, deleting files and causing maybe a billion dollars of damage. Today we are being swamped by clones. CBS just reported that more than ten million computers have now been infected. What to do? In the media experts have been quick to offer bad or useless advice. Nobody mentions a simple, quick-fix solution which can implemented in just a few minutes. I have posted the details at http://www.chessbase.com/vcure/ The page also contains a tiny program (159 bytes) that allows you to test whether the solution works on your system. If it does you are safe from the ILoveYou virus or any of the thousands of clones we are going to see in the next weeks and months.
