You may be aware that this act wasn't done on the spur of the moment, nor was
there a withdrawal of the protests involving Fritz's participation. The
organizers imposed this on the players without consenting with them and decided
that the players had no say in the championship they were participating in. THAT
is embarassing not to mention disrespectful. Isn't that why Fischer refused to
defend his title in 1975?
