Dick,

You can create a clean bootdisk. It is not bad. ;)

Format it with the command: C:\>format a: /s at the DOS prompt.

Copy c:\autoexec.bat and c:\config.sys to a:\

Open edit and remove unnecessary lines from the files of a:\autoexec.bat
and a:\config.sys but leaves necessary lines there.

If you use Windows 3.x, make sure you insert smartdrv.exe 256 in your
a:\autoexec.bat, and you must insert device=c:\dos\himes.sys in your
a:\config.sys. For Windows 3.x and Win95, make there is a line in
cofig.sys: FILES=20. For Win95, if your computer has a built-in 256K
cache, then smartdrv.exe and device=c:\dos\himem.sys are not necessary
in those files - just remove them.

Reboot and then type: mem /c /p at the DOS prompt and please repost here
what you see in your front. How many free kilobytes has conventional
memory?

Try to run Rebel9, and check the information in the menu EXT|PROGRAM.
How many kilobytes hashtable successfully occupies and how many free
memory? Please repost that answer here, too.

Thanks,
Eran
