Here's what it says on the chessbase site, 18.10 GMT 28 October:

And remember Friedal and Chessbase were touted as the offical icca
information disseminators (Friedal allegedly, according to Marsland of
the icca, having done such a good job at Jakarta)

World Micro Computer Chess Championship
Paris 1997

Monday, Oct. 27th

It has been quite difficult to get information from the WMCCC in Paris,
due to some very elementary hitches. For instance there is only one
overloaded phone-line available in the playing hall; the modem didn't
connect immediately with the computer; the phone jacks were different,
etc. So there have been and will be some delays in getting the games and
results. However, we will try to keep you posted and upload the games as
soon as they are in. Things should improve by Wednesday.

We hear that the problem with the AMDs has been partially resolved. The
participants have received machines. They are currently running at 200
MHz, and are supposed to be upgraded to 233 MHz on Tuesday or Wednesday.

End of Chessbase blurb

Well the poor little lambs, no dongle for the phone jack :)

And yes, icca and Friedel, there have been some delays.

Basically this bunch of opinionated self-promoting twerps can go stuff
themselves.
