Are you claiming that the programs will complain about the noise??? Perhaps you mean the poor operators, who distraught by the excessive noise from the spectators, suffer from a momentary lapse of dyslexy, and move the pieces in the opposite direction. Visitors have to be registered first? That's the most preposterous way of organizing an event that should be trying to get as much publicity as possible and not acting as if: "gee, the amount of spectators may be a problem, let's find a way to deter them." >>Even the owners of the two Paris chess shops do not seem >>interested to go there! > Under the circumstances I don't blame them. I can just see their faces as they, professionally interested people, try to enter: "We're sorry sir, but you don't seem to have the necessary papers. Do you have your B Slash two oh four point 3 formulary with you? No? Then you'll have to file for one immediately with a 6 to 8 week waiting period. Thank you for your interest." >It's a desert! > >>* The tournament room is beautiful, but the air is very sticky, > >Bring a spray of perfume, poor boy. The ICCA site deserves no comment, and the Titus site is truly worth laughing at. You think I'm being hard? To begin with, it is consistently behind by several round. Second, the days (Monday, Tuesday, etc...) that accompanied the rounds were actually wrong at then corrected later. Then the 8th round pairings were announced as being the final round (quickly corrected the next day), but as it is the 8th round is still being displayed on November 1st! Go figure. >When the round is over, all participants are given the complete list of >games in PGN format, >and the rank of programs, printed by a computer-printer, yes! "Professionals are losing interest", says Mr. Schroeder. I'd be embarrassed to associated with such an organization. Albert Silver
