first : let me say I am really sorry I posted again in this thread ; it is
probably one of those "man , I have the better arguments or better wordings ,
ain't I cool ?" ones .

For the question initially discussed it seems it doesn't matter what you or I
think chess servers are meant for ; only important thing is what people are up
to using it ; I only wanted to point your attention to the fact that for many
people watching titled players ( though maybe useless for improving ones game
)obviously is the _main_ reason they got an account . People even pay chekels (
a friendly synomnym for dollars ) to play 3/0 or 1/0 games against titled
players ( and believe me : the taxes aren't all cheap ) .

I hope this doesn't sound offensive : take my word it isn't intended to .

Well , one thing is the so-often-blamed-Blitzin which allows the admins to
detect chessprograms running in the background ...

But again : this discussion seems to head in a direction I didn't intend to run
into : so I better say : " When playing at ICC for myself I personally feel
considerably less often cheated than at every other online chess place I visited
so to _my_ experience it is superior !"

This way it seems to make more sense to me ( and leaves the opportunity to
answer sth like : " so go on paying for your phantasies " :-) )

peace.
