IIRC, Slate and Atkin wrote an article on it in Chess Skill in Man and Machine (which I thought was a book you regarded highly? I seem to recall you doing a review of several titles a while back.) FWIW, the article is also reprinted in Computer Chess Compendium (Levy, ed.) Dave
