I cannot even come close to buying that.

I could buy that ONE given GM is having a bad day and misses it, or some such,
especially if he looked at it for a very short time.

I could also buy that a given GM was playing a game that got to this position
and missed it. Why? Maybe fatigue. Maybe time crunch. Or simply, he was not
given position to move and win like we were. We were told: HEY, TOUGH POSITION,
COME LOOK AT IT!.

I cannot imagine that the statement above of "Not a lot of GM's were able to
solve this" has any basis in fact or reality.

I have won and drawn against class A players, but I have never beaten an expert
(came close once). Why? Because I cannot concentrate at the level required for
an entire game. So, granted, I may be a class A or expert level player when it
comes to analyzing a given position on a good day.

But most GMs do this for a living. They see many levels beyond me on my very
best day. This is not one of those positions which is out of normal chess
pattern recognition.

Thinking that even some GMs would have a problem with this position if it was
placed in front of them is an insult to their ability (IMHO). Thinking that one
given GM had this position in a game and missed it accidentally is a different
matter entirely.
