I am very surprised because I have a DGT board at home, and it works
perfectly well with standard software (Junior 6 or Queen 1.4).
You can let many pieces fall and then put them on the right square,
the moves are updated without any problem.
People could think that the DGT board is the source of problems, but
I can tell you that I never had any problem of any kind using
the most recent drivers. It seems that they use a "home made" (?)
software, and this software must be the cause of all the problems
that occured.

In my opinion, the DGT board is an excellent product and I don't
like the idea that the Dortmund tournament makes a very bad advertising
for it.
