Without the hard work of writing an SMP version, the hardware boost would have
been 1/8 what it was.

In order to make an exponential process run faster, you have to do some mighty
fancy dancing.  I imagine that Amir will accept any free donations of code that
figure out how to solve chess problems in polynomial time.

Computationally, chess in "infeasible" and hence, it's ludicrous even to try to
write a chess program.  Fortuntately, some people don't care that it isn't
possible.
