Bob, Believe it or not -- we have actually measured a difference of roughly 45% in Dhrystone performance between "gcc -O1/O2/O3" and DEC Unix DEC C V5.2-033 under Digital UNIX V4.0 (Rev. 564) when unsign the options "cc -O5 -tune ev56 -ifo -non_shared" for the latter. =Ernst=
