In the moment there is a computerchess-tournament running in germany. 24 computer-programs fight, operated by a group of hobbyists, against each other. 2 rounds a day. I will try to get some information, maybe participant-list and ranking so far. I guess Rebel9 and Hiarcs6 and maybe Virtual2 or Shredder2 or other TOP- and LATEST- programs will appear ! Each program is allowed to participate with 2 versions (when I remember it right). The operators are well known in the computerchess scene here in germany (and maybe in foreign countries too). Last year the first rank got a prize-found of 1000 ,- DM ! I think this motivates operators to give their and their machines best. I called them by telephone, but was in between the rounds and they had no time to tell me. Will try again in the evening and also ask if one of the participants has Internet access to download some games live. The tournament last year was very very interesting. Virtual chess on a slow cyrix did an amazing surprise-ranking. We will see what happens this year. Till later...
