IMO moderators have to do the job they were elected to do, whether they are
participants in the thread or not.  In cases where a deletion by a particular
moderator is a touchy thing, it's advisable to simply bring the issue to the
attention of another moderator and let them handle it.  That's what didn't
happen in a recent case, and that's what Bob is/was upset about.
