The event really needs to be in North America, but perhaps it's too late, and
nobody would go unless they got travel support.

In the past it's been pretty easy to fill a 24-entrant roster, but this time
there were 14.  So maybe $100 or whatever the fee was, plus a trip to the edge
of Europe (as opposed to the center), was enough to drive away almost half the
field this time.
