The real answer is that Elmer Fudd is everyone in the state of New Hampshire.
Far more interesting than gawking at leaves is to drive to Concorde, NH and go
to a mall to listen to the wonderful "elmer-speak."

'Round the rough and rugged rocks, the ragged rascal ran' would be pronounced:
'Wound the wuff and wugged wocks, the wagged wascal wan'

The most amazing part is that everyone keeps a straight face while they are
doing this. I imagine (however) that I sound far more ludicrous to them than
they do to me.

New England in general is a fascinating place to watch the transformation of the
letter 'R'

Boston (r->h):
'Park the car in harvard yard' becomes 'Pahk the cah in Havahd yahd."

Brooklyn (r->oi):
'Chirp, chirp said the bird' becomes 'Choip, choip said the boid."

New Hampshire (r->w):
'Red Rooster' becomes 'Wed Woostaw' (the second 'w' is nearly silent).

Chess application?
If someone said, "My wook is on the fuwst wank"... {Elmer-fuddite from NH}
We'll know exactly what they mean. But instead of "wily widdle wascals" they
will probably be after "cwafty" ones, or perhaps "Webel and Chess Tigew" or even
"Fwitz".
