This Chess Program is called Ziggurat of David Norris. I had it some years ago
in my old 386 PC. I don't remember if it can process .EPD files. Sorry, but it
was several years ago.

However, this program is a good option for somebody who only wants to face a
very weak Chess Program, with a single own GUI on the Windows GUI. Although,
this program was originally created for Windows 3.1, you can run it on Windows
9X.

You can get it freely, in the GambitSoft's Shareware and Freeware Web Page.

This is true. However, as you said, this program was integrated in the Microsoft
Package Game for the general user, and not the Chess Computer User.
