I don't feel that tablebases are "knowledge", as for a specific program to play
well in the endgame it needs tablebases to play well.

For one that does not use them, and for it to still play well, knowledge must be
present, and in good form.

Take Crafty for example, without tablebases it is much weaker in the endgame,
than with them.

Tiger doesn't use them, yet is still a brute in the endgame.

Do you see where I am going with this?
