We should try to get the rom code and emulator working. I think I
have some contacts here at MIT that can help me. I wonder if there
is a legal issue with the ROM code? I don't see why this should
be a problem but you never know. Also we could contact Radio Shack
and see what they have to say. I'm really interested in getting a
full blown TRS-80 emulator working.

But why would anyone produce an emulator without the rom code? Maybe
we should contact the emulator author and find out what the story is.

Finally, if you had one could you decode the tape? I have my doubts
the emulator would work for this (where would you hook up the cassette?)

Presumably there would be a file format for simulating tape loaded
software. I never had a disk system on my trs-80 and I'll bet a
lot of others didn't either. I always loaded SargonII from audio
tape.

I final issue is how good is the tape after all these years? Did
you store it well and what is the lifetime of an audio tape?
