Not automaticly, but it can be done. In my engine I use this to speed it up. The
only sideeffect is that when my opponent makes a move, it might take up to 10
seconds for the engine to react. Since I don't like speedchess anyway, and it
gives a 25% performance boost, it's well worth it.
