hmmmm. let me see if i have this in order. (1) so there is an accomplished chess master that stefan feels comfortable with. stefan decides he wants marcus to be a beta tester for the new shredder5. so he trusts and confides in marcus, an upgrade of his shredder4 program. of course, we all know the purpose in doing this---to get back with the programmer, if he sees any changes or impovements that could be made before releasing to the public. marcus while studying this program, sees a weakness in one of the opening lines. (2) now for some reason, later on, marcus is now helping a competitor, the millennium team, ed and chris, operating the new tiger in the tournament. so marcus being the competitor that he is, decides to reveal to ed, this weakness in shredders book. were ed and chris aware of all of this before the shredder match in the tournament. why sure they were, thats why they wanted him there. -------so here are some words i will use to describe this whole mess. dirty, sticky, muddy, ugly, soap opera. was it cheating? not in my book, your race car and your race team, made it through the tech line. so someone said you could race with that team and that race car. so you did. was it professional? hmmm, in our races you do what ever it takes to win, and this you did. cheating in winston cup is defined as, only when you are fully aware of a violation of something specificately stated in the rule book, or told to you by a tech official. it has become so common in winston cup, to have a very skilled person move from one team to another, for better money or what ever reason, that it is expected and accepted, but complained about. i wish this whole thing could be forgotten. i feel stefan thinks he was not treated fairly, by marcus, his shredder beta tester, helping a competitor in a tournament with their program.
