Well, if the current shipping product doesn't support SAN, then the warning
seems worthwhile, even if the next version does end up supporting it.  I can
phrase it to say that it might be supported in the future; something like
"Warning: if you want your engine to work with ChessMaster 8000, you need to use
pure coordinate notation (e.g., e2e4) in the move command, though future
versions of ChessMaster might relax this restriction."

Just to be clear, this is meant to help more engines work with CM, definitely
not to make CM look bad. I might have required coordinate notation in the move
command from the start, if I'd been thinking in terms of making it easier to
write other GUIs, not just about specifying what xboard/winboard itself
supports.
