Apparently when I was replying to this thread I somehow hit my silly
little
touchpad at the wrong time and deleted most of what I wrote.

But my comments were:

1.  Kb2 is a draw.  White can not win a pawn with this move unless black
screws up.  You might have a search bug, an evaluation bug, or even a
hashing bug.  But it can't be done...

2.  white starts out a pawn up, so +1 is pretty normal.  But if you play
Kb2, that's all you should see.  I just ran thru 40 plies to see (only
searching Kb2) and the score never changed from +.80 or so...
