These tests won't mean much unless you have the exact system I do, with the exact same setup. People will say, well in engine vs engine mode you are not using permanant brain(I don't know if this is true,is perm brain on during engine vs. engine tests?), or Fritz uses hash tables better, or blah, blah, blah, so the results don't mean anything. Well, in my particular case, and situation, on my machine with all things being equal, Fritz is the stronger engine for me. Like I said, I wouln't say that because of the results 40+ games, that this is true for in all cases that Fritz is stronger, but in my case Fritz is the stronger. The tests were run using a Cyrix Pentium 166 w/48mb ram. 10mb allocated to each engine for hashtables. These were all run using the Nunn positions. 60 minutes total game There are 23 games total, I was shooting for 40, but my 5 year old son stopped computer. Results for Junior vs. Fritz 5 Junior +5 -13 =5 for 60 minute games Junior +11 -26 =6 Total games(blitz+60 min) Games on next message
