I don't actually know that for a fact, but I know Bruce says he runs Ferret on a quad. would it be a serious rewrite to make a non smp version? Beats me. Might be easy. Maybe it wouldn't sell as well as Fritz6, but you have to consider that Deep Fritz and Deep Junior both sell to an extend, and I'm sure there are several downloads of the smp version of Crafty every time a new version is released. > I don't mean to rubbish someone else's program, but for this program > to go commercial means it would obviously have to be competitive on > 'normal' hardware, and how strong would Ferret be on my Cyrix P150, for > example? I don't know. Do you mean how strong would Ferret be on your Cyrix150 relative to another program?
