Both CM 5000 and CM 5500 love to play the following line as Black: 1. d4, d5 2. c4, c6 3. Nf3, Nf6 4. Nc3, dc4 5. a4, Bf5 6. e3, e6 7. Bc4, Bb4 8. 0-0, 0-0 9. Nh4, Bg4 10. f3, Nd5?! 11. fg4, Qh4 12. e4!, Nc3 13. bc3, Bc3 14. Ra3, Bb4 15. Rh3, Qd8 Now Chessmaster is out of book. I played: 16. e5 and no matter how long I let CM think, it always plays: 16...c5? Other moves aren't very good either, but now: 17. d5, ed5 18. Qd3 seems to win in all variations, e. g.: 18...h6 19. Bd5, Nc6 20. Bh6!, Ne5 21. Bg7!!, Nd3 22. Ba1! forcing mate. CM 5000 is an extremely strong player, despite its poor opening book and often horrible endgame play.
