if there is a later...? No release of code after 5.0 Stuart, Kong and Stefan are busy beavering away, and a number of improvements (and bug fixes) are busy proving there worth in the world of real competition. Modern variants in development can be found on FICS and the Internet Chess Server. The improvements so far are substantial - but not earth shattering (otherwise there would have been a release 8-) - but I think Bob can relax knowing Crafty still has the edge (But I think we closed the gap - improvements get harder as the programs get better). I still have some bugs on my to do list as well - it seems to have trouble playing KvKP as black sometimes - oops. What did Levy say 'Never resign' ?!
