I'm not a strong chess player, and I think it helps me to have a sane approach when I try to add knowledge in my program. I used to believe that my lack of positional knowledge would, sooner or later, prevent me from improving Tiger's style of play. But I now have concerns about this. It seems that it is not the case. And as I have to be very careful when I add any kind of knowledge, I am forced to immediately play many games to get real data about the improvement, if there is one. I don't trust my experience as a player. If I was a strong player, I would say: "this is good for me, so my program has to know about it". And I would trash it with the kind of stupid superstitious knowledge most of chess players have. Christophe
