It's a matter of style and taking advantage of one's strengths. Computers are very strong in tactical positions, and open positions suit their style, therefore openings which lead to open positions would be the best for computers. For humans playing against computers, closed openings are the best to play against the computers. This is because computers are not able to play closed positions well enough, yet. Perhaps within a few years this weakness will be fixed, hopefully by the programmers. Regards, Laurence
