Subject: Aufsess-tournament 98: Explanation + final ranking

Author: Karsten Bauermeister

Date: 07:24:19 03/24/98

From march, the 18th to march, the 21st some friends of mine and myself
were playing a big tournament with "almost all" good chess programs in
Aufsess (Germany - Bavaria). It was the second tournament there and
everybody had great fun! Winner was again M-Chess. Last year M-Chess Pro
6 could run for the first place, this year M-Chess Pro 7 won with 6 out
of 7. The used time control was 3 hours / game. Every operator had the
possibility to change the level or the internal clock three times a game
to prevent time troubles. All top-programs had top hardware, too

The games are in the next message. When there are some questions to the
programs, the games or circumstances about the tournament, I will try to
answer all these here in CCC.
