I am not so sure.
In one tournament everything can happen and I remember cases when engines that
are not the best won first place(Junior won first place in 1997 with 9.5 out of
11 inspite of not being better than programs like Fritz(scored 6 out of 11) and
chessmaster was not close to 9.5 out of 11).

It will be interesting to know if there are good moves in the games that
chessmaster8000 cannot reproduce.

I have not chessmaster8000 so I cannot answer.
