Not to forget the fact that CM played on a lousy PIII500 against opponents on
more monsterlike hardware and lost its game against Tiger because of a very
miserable opening line .

I still think CM8000 ( default settings ) will do just fine in the SSDF list in
the end ; time will tell .

I remember similar discussions about CM6000 and its settings where the only
setting which ever was proven to some extent to be better than the default
settings was to raise the "selective search" which is understandable as the
hardware had changed very much since the release of CM6000 .

Why should Mr deKoning release a setting which is deliberately weakened :-) ?

Simply makes no sense .
