The Cyrix chips had some trouble earlier, but I believe the new series
of chips from Cyrix should be very good for chess. Cyrix are particulary
good a computation involving integer calculations, which should make it
excellent
for chess. If you take a look at (wonder if this will work..)

across various platforms"</A>, you'll notice that the Cyrix MX chip
gives a much higher node/MHz count than most other systems. Only trouble
is, you don't get the Cyrix at very high CPU speeds. The fastest is
something like 180 MHz, I think..
