My setup is:
Athlon 1GHz
768 MB PC133 SDRAM
192 MB hashtable, all 3/4/5-piece endgame tablebases
Windows 2000 Pro

Nothing major like SETI@home running in background, in case anyone suspects
that. Also no MP3s playing. IE 5.5 and Outlook Express are the major ones
running.

Under Chess Tiger 14.0 engine options, 'Anti-human' is checked. I have both GUI
and engine books on, but I'm not really sure what the difference is. Ever since
the first loss, I've turned on booklearning, but I'm not really sure how it
works or what the optimal settings are for that either.

The human opponent was named vampir. He has no finger notes and his blitz rating
is 1970. I've sent him a message asking if he has any FIDE, USCF or other
federation ratings. From what I've observed, I believe human FICS ratings are
very deflated, probably by more than 300 pts in some cases, compared to ICC or
USCF. This might be due to the many computer accts robbing rating points from
the humans.

Reading over my original post, I should consider selling the made-for-TV movie
rights. Sounds like something Lifetime might be interested in. Oh heck, let's
shoot for the stars.... Universal Pictures presents Nicholas Cage in... "Chess
Madness" :)
