Go up one level in this thread

I think if ChessBase buys it will hold off on Fritz 7 and implement the uci
possibly their own version of it. atleast i think that would be quite the
product. It will be interesting to see what happens, Part of me thinks a single
entity would be great As all software would work together but the other part and
i am sure this is part of the reason some programers had nothing to do with
chessbase in the first place is that it would end up being a monopoly. Think
about it this way Rebel working with Chess Tiger I remember when i suggested
that somebody try this way back when everybody was at the newsgroups in 1994 i
think, it wasn't untill 1998 or 99 that somebody took my idea and used it to
their benifit. I am not sure if they listened to me or came up with it on their
own but it worked so i am happy that atleast i had the right idea. Well i am
sure the same thing would happen on a Much greater scale if Chessbase or
somebody Takes the best parts of and ideas of : Mchess, Shredder, Nimzo, Chess
Tiger, Gambit Tiger , Gandalf, Hiarcs, Fritz , Junior, and so on and puts it
all together. I would bet on an increase of well over 30+ elo points over
anything out there but thats just an idea.
