Hello Bob,

Good !

I know I know :-)

This is the problem. For me is WinBoard my favorite GUI!
But a GUI for the market (I mean for the moment) ?

The most user have interest on a better GUI with more possibilitys (GUI
Schnickschnack ... Wirrwarr). I think WinBoard is for chess good enough and also
the engine protocol is very good.

>Yes...

I believe programmers have also interest on a GUI with more possibilitys. The
Chess-Base GUIs are very good also the GUI by Stefan. I like Chess-Assistant
also Chessmaster. We have a lot of very good GUIs.

My / this message, because a little bit more engines in other GUI is the right
way for the future (but not to many protocols). I try this but I try also that
all programs are compatible to WinBoard and I had written to programmers ...
please make a UCI engine and give your WB version for free if you have interest.

Normaly this is 100% correct. Or better 101% correct but also important are GUIs
for the market. If I play in a chess club and asked people about computer chess
I got the answere ...

I know only AnMon and Crafty (my dream) :-)

No, I got the answere I know Fritz but what is WinBoard Frank ?

Internet is clear, the most know WinBoard and have interest on Winboard. In 5
years I think that 70% of all chess player have an internet account. Also this
is important for Winboard.

And for you:
I think we need more Bob Hyatts ...
You are one of the persons where I have respect, at the moment the list are not
very big (the most are Winboarders :-)) ).

Best
Frank
