To add the 3rd of the programs which are usually recommended on such occasions:

Der Bringer 1.8: Feature rich windows GUI. Handles PGN (except variations) and
EPD file formats. Can be downloaded and used free of charge.

It doesn't have VCR buttons, but toolbar icons and keyboard shortcuts to replay
games, or you can click into the move list directly to jump to a move.

While you may be not (yet) be interested in the chessplaying capabilities,
Bringer offers a lot also in that respect (i.e. endgame tablebase access). It
has achieved an remarkable tournament result recently, including wins and draws
against profi programs (4.5/8; see http://www.vrichey.de/cct3/cct3gamestab.htm).
