Since our membership application is automated, it is impossible to weed out the 10 year old kids who, for "fun", get a kick out of joining and "shocking" everyone with obscenities. In this particular case ("Chessmaster 102"), signed up at 1:40 A.M. New York time AND Tim is off today, so the young man's post has stayed beyond its normal life span. For this we apologize. As soon as I can reach Tim, the posts will be gone. However, once we have the new moderators in place, we should be able to have them "erase" messages directly. And if the moderators span the globe, there should not be much time in which our little pranksters can hide. It is for this reason that I recommend that moderators be elected from various time zones. I have heard suggestions that people must sign up under their actual names, but, in reality, if someone wishes to hide his identity, there is nothing that we can do except get rid of him if he abuses the rules of the club. Having said all that, I personally believe that it refreshing that the obscene post will shortly be eradicated and the thread will die which is something that does not ever seem to happen in other forums. - Steve
