The trick is that all possible legal positions resulting from this one all transpose in no more than a few hundred (rough estimate) possible positions, which all fit in hash. So it takes some time to fill the hash with them, but once you got those few hundred, you instantly zoom to ply 100. Provided hashing is working correctly of course... -- GCP
