Subject: Chessbase sinks even deeper

Bits from that press release:

>...Chessbase deserves the publicity it will reap...

What is this supposed to mean? How do you 'deserve'
publicity if you haven't done anything yet except for
paying a lot of people to make that publicity for you?
>Fritz is demonstrably the best program around. They have proven it time after
>time.

Uhh? I would think that all of Shredder's titles would amount to
something, but guess not.

Who's the current world champion again? I don't think it's Fritz.

>Fritz?s performance will no doubt delight and impress chess fans whether it
>wins or loses.
Yes, like the debacle in the Dutch Champs. We were really
impressed with the planlessness and stupidity it showed vs
Loek van Wely.

*Really* impressed...

>Fritz has trounced professional players all over the world

Same goes otherwise of course.

>Regardless of the result of the match, Fritz will be shown to the buying public
>and we expect that all chess fans will want to run out and buy a copy, even if
>it loses to the World Champion.

Oh please. Like we would have missed THAT!

>However, why do you think that Kramnik can defeat Fritz convincingly, when no
>other Grandmaster has?

Uhm, perhaps because he is the best player in the world?

>In any case, ChessBase are going to benefit greatly from the match, and
>deservedly so.

Yes, you guys are really full of yourselves indeed.
