thanks for explaining how the eval was looked at, and then a move was chosen. everything about this match is amazing to me. all the high tech people involved is amazing. the machine itself, the processors, amazing what they accomplished. here is one thing that i have learned about chess enthusiasts today: that, that machine and its software is being "chased" by many today. so far we try to find these moves. we compare our speed, hardware, and program search methods to deep blue. so far in our times we still have to look up to deep blue. but hardware is improving fast. and i find it very interesting to see if todays programs will play these moves. there are a lot of "kids" and other people here, that think people like me spend time trying to degrade, or take some of the "mystery" away from the accomplishments of that time. no way. the only thing that drives me is seeing where the programs are today in these exact moves in these six games, deep blue played. i will start game two soon, game two will not be fun. i also am going to go through the complete analysis of game one again. this time i will take ten minutes per move instead of 5 minutes, like i did the first game. but instead of seven hours for the actual game play, it will take about 14 hours to redo game one. kburcham
