Tablebases/EGTs should not signal a win > 50m as a draw ... as it is up to the defender to claim a draw. I suspect the 50-move rule was not meant to stop a player achieving a demonstrably achievable win. The point about "who says the EGTs are correct - prove it" is fair. Second-sourcing is the only way. Some positions can be won with (as yet non-existent) "Depth By The Rule" EGTs where DTM(ate) or DTC(onversion) EGTs would provide a 50m-draw-claim opportunity. G
