The heat issue is an old FUD thing. Yes, the Athlon runs hotter than the P4. So what, it has higher IPC than the P4. The Athlon actually has fewer issues/bugs than the current Intel CPUs. Chips only overheat when they are incorrectly installed, goes for AMD/Intel/VIA etc ... If you buy a ready made computer, no problems. The current P4 is a badly designed piece of hardware that needs advanced manufacturing techniques to be economical. MvH Dan Andersson
