I seem to remember that the numbers where extrapolations based on shaky facts. The 2GHz P4 is actually slower than a 1.2GHz Athlon MP when running Crafty. And the FritzMark nubers seen have not been impressive either. So an Athlon XP 1800+ that runs on 1.53GHz will run roughshod over the P4. Must wash ... Written subpar cpu part name too many times ...
